About the Shul of New York

Music is one of the defining aspects of The Shul of New York.  The Shul Band is an extraordinarily talented group of musicians with a diversity of sound and texture that stems from the variety of musical styles and cultural backgrounds of the musicians themselves.  Some have classical training, some are Jazz musicians and others add Mariachi, Bluegrass, Folk, Rock and Soul influences. Their original music and new interpretations of classic songs enhance our worship and our celebrations.

Rabbi Burt Aaron Siegel is the founder and Rabbi of The Shul of New York.  He guides the congregation in worship, holiday celebrations, and children’s and adult education.  A student of many religions in his own right, Rabbi Burt interweaves the wisdom of the Great Traditions into his teachings, empowering us to recognize the best in ourselves, to help one another and to acknowledge love as the highest and most fundamental value.

We invite you to browse this website to learn about The Shul of New York’s outlook and essential teachings, and to get to know us by attending a service or a program.  You can also contact us if you have questions.
