Rabbi Burt Aaron Siegel is founder and spiritual leader of The Shul of New York. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Rabbi Burt received his Rabbinic Ordination and the award for the highest academic standing, as well as a Masters Degree in Judaic Studies, at the Hebrew Union College Jewish Institute of Religion. He began his Rabbinic Career at the Riverdale Temple, where he was a Rabbi for ten years. He continued his work as a Rabbi at The New Synagogue in New York and was Interim Rabbi at The Village Temple for one year.

In addition to his traditional Rabbinic activities, Rabbi Burt is also a trained psychotherapist. He has worked for a number of years as a therapist and he uses his expertise to counsel many different individuals and groups. He leads meditation, spiritual guidance, and healing meditation groups, including weekly sessions at Gilda's Club, a support community for cancer patients. In addition Rabbi Burt is a certified Kundalini yoga teacher.

Rabbi Siegel, with Swami Muniji, being honored at an interfaith celebration in India. This picture and accompanying article appeared in an Indian newspaper. The second heading in the lighter type refers to the Rabbi as "Guru Rabbi Siegel." The Rabbi was also interviewed on the most widely viewed TV channel in India about Judaism. The producers thought it may have been the first time such an interview was ever done with a Rabbi.

Adult Education – Lecture by Rabbi Burt on “Rashi, as seen by Elie Wiesel”  March 11, 2010 at 7:30.  Tuition $15.

 

Community Meditation – Shed the rigors of the week by joining in a guided meditation, inspiring music and the calming celebration of Havdala, followed by a chance to chat over wine and cheese. Saturday, March 20 at 7 pm at Judson Church facilities. RSVP to Seidman4@gmail.com
