May 4, 2012 -- Special SHABBAT of SONG (Shabbat Shira)  In addition to Rabbi Burt and the wonderful Shul Band, we will enjoy the music of other spiritual traditions, including singers from the inspiring Jerrise Johnson Gospel Choir,  the amazing Sabrina Lastman singing Afro-Uruguayan Candombe,  the joyful return of the incomparable Rebecca Bellingham (now Mom to Annie and Ezra) . . . . and more.

It is also a FAMILY FRIDAY, so the kids will have a special program on the lower level, starting at 6 pm.

BRING a FRIEND! Introduce someone new to The Shul of New York in our most inspiring setting and with joyful, spirit-lifing music.

There will be Israeli dancing and an Oneg Shabbat following the service.

The Shul of New York meets for Shabbat services on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of every month.  Shabbat services are held at Friends Meeting House, 15 Rutherford Place (between 2nd and 3rd Avenues) unless otherwise noted.  Services begin at 6:30 and end between 8:00 – 8:30, and are followed by a chance for people to meet, chat and nosh at an Oneg Shabbat.

All Shabbat Services feature the inspiring music of The Shul Band; guest musicians and vocalists often join the group. Be a member of the community to celebrate moving events such as baby namings, conversions and adult Bar/Bat Mitzvahs.
