Wise Aging:

Living with Joy, Resilience and Spirit

facilitated by Rabbi Eva Sax-Bolder

Teach us to use all of our days

That we may attain a heart of wisdom.

Psalms 90:12

The "Wise Aging" sessions will address many of the opportunities and challenges we are facing as we transition through our elder years. This program invites us to embrace life and live more consciously, joyfully and compassionately by offering powerful tools for giving expression to the wisdom of our own ripening lives.

We will explore the pertinent issues in the context of contemporary and core Jewish texts, as well as glean from the wisdom of other traditions to inspire and enrich us as we transition into our later years and plan for life completion.

Through group and individual exercises, mindfulness practices, journaling, readings and discussions, we will address the following themes:

Exploring this stage of Life; How do we view being an ‘Elder’

Cultivating Nourishing Relationships

Cultivating Spiritual Qualities for Well-Being: Mussar

Forgiveness and Constructive Criticism

Living with Loss and Finding Light

Legacy and Stewardship

I am my Body; I am not my Body
