One-on-One Job Counseling Meetings & Workshops

Counselors are available to meet people individually who are looking for a job or need new ideas for their job search

The following free workshops will be presented in June  


June 6 - 10:00 am

Informational Interviews

Informational Interviews – it’s not about asking for a job …it’s how to ask for information that you can use to conduct a better search. This workshop will cover how to schedule, prepare for and conduct informational interviews. Prepare to share - Participants are strongly encouraged to create a meeting agenda, ‘pitch’, brief statement of your experience and what you want to talk about/learn.  Let’s work together!

June 8 - 10:00 am

Open Computer Lab – Use a Computer for Job Search or Improve Skills

At this workshop, come use a computer for your job search or work with our Computer Tutor to improve your Word, Excel or PowerPoint skills.  Computers will be provided.

June 15 - 2:00 pm

Excel 2010 - Basics Overview*

This hands-on workshop will teach participants Excel basics – working with spreadsheets, learning about cells, rows, sorting and basic formulas.  This class is for those who have never used Excel before or have a very limited knowledge.  Computers will be provided

June 16 - 10:00 am               

Develop A Great Resume

Your resume is one of the most important tools you will need to land that next interview. Employers need to see that you are the best person for their job. In this workshop we will go over how to prepare your resume and show you are “the right fit” for the job. (Bring your resume with you to this workshop). 

June 27 - 2:00 pm

Successful Interviewing & Open Question and Answers

“So tell me what is your weakness” or “Why should I hire you?” Those are some of the most dreaded interview questions.  Don’t let an unexpected question catch you off guard, learn how to answer these questions and more.
