Mussar: Becoming a Mensch, Becoming Our Best Self
What if you were offered practical tools that would help you in your spiritual growth? Wouldn’t you jump at the chance?
What is Mussar? Mussar is an ancient form of Jewish spirituality that focuses on the practice of cultivating ethical soul traits (middot) in our daily lives.
Rabbi Eva will lead a group of spiritual seekers in a 6-month journey of spiritual growth engaging the mind, heart and body. The Mussar sessions are an opportunity to step away from your daily pressures; to pay attention to your inner life.
Mussar: A Journey of Self-discovery through a Jewish Lens
This 8-session program offers participants a structure to grow and bring more holiness into their life and the life of their community. Explore ‘soul traits’ or ‘character traits’ such as trust, humility, patience, honor, loving-kindness and equanimity.
The practices take place in individual work (through meditation, visualizations, writing and reflections), with partners, and in a va’ad, our communal group of fellow journeyers. Making this commitment to your spiritual path with the support of a companion and the group is essential in creating a safe place to learn and grow to be our best selves.
