Zikaron B'salon

Sunday, March 22, 2020 26 Adar 5780

3:00 PM - 5:00 PMGreenwich Village

Join the Shul of New York, in collaboration with the 14th Street Y, for a very special Holocaust remembrance.

Zikaron B'salon, which translates literally into “remembrance in the living room,” is an annual event which takes place in private homes on Israeli Holocaust Memorial Day.

In anticipation of the Shul's remembrance of Yom HaShoah, we will host Anne Kelemen, a 95 year old holocaust survivor. Together, we will listen to her story and engage in moving conversation about the importance of keeping the memory of the Holocaust alive.

Anne survived the Holocaust by being sent to England as a child on a Kindertransport train, along with 10,000 other children from Germany, Austria and Czechoslovakia. She was raised and attended a boarding school there. She never saw her parents again. After the war, she settled in Israel (she had some interesting experiences in Cyprus along the way) before eventually moving to New York.

Sunday, March 22nd at 3pm.

We will meet in a private home in Greenwich Village (address in confirmation email).

Space is limited. Registration is required.
