What We Talk About When We Talk About God:

Jewish Theologies

Do you believe in God as Supreme Ruler?

Force for Good?

Loving Parent?   Source of Life?

Unsure of what you believe about God -- or whether you believe in God at all?

Judaism has no one set doctrine about God, and Jewish statements about God’s nature are as diverse as they are numerous.

Join Rabbi Susan to trace the development of four overarching Jewish beliefs about God’s nature through time, moving from ancient Biblical and rabbinic texts through to contemporary writings.

We will discuss our own beliefs – and perhaps discover new and surprising ideas about how to name what we think of as holy and sacred.

Sessions are on Tuesday evenings from 7:00pm to 8:30pm on Zoom:

October 12: “I Am What I Am” – Theology of Being/Doing

October 19: “Make Me a Sanctuary” – Theology of Place

November 2: “God called out to Adam: ‘Where Are You?' -- Theology of

November 16:  “When Bad Things Happen to Good People” – Theodicy, the
                          Problem of Evil
