New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG) Legal Resource Hotline - (services are free) helps NY City residents to get answers to their legal questions including debt, housing, unemployment insurance, benefits for individuals, families, Seniors, Veterans and more.
 

The Hotline is open Monday - Friday, 10am - 1pm at 929.356.9582.  Leave a message with your name, best number to call you back, and a description of your issue. Make it easier for them to call you back – leave your message slowly and repeat your phone number at least 2 times. nylag.org/hotline

NYS Marketplace Insurance New Special Enrollment Period through May 15, 2020 for purchasing insurance coverage through the NY State of Health. If you lost employer coverage, you must apply within 60 days of losing that coverage. You can apply for coverage through NY State of Health on-line at nystateofhealth.ny.gov, by phone at 855-355-5777, and working with enrollment navigators

 

Stimulus Payments - the stimulus payments have started being distributed and are automatic for most taxpayers. No further action is needed by taxpayers who filed tax returns in 2018 and 2019 and most seniors and retirees. Check your payment status or file to receive payment, if necessary, here

NYCHA Residents Hand Sanitizer - NY State is shipping hundreds of gallons of hand sanitizer to the staff and residents of NYCHA, will post more information soon.

NYCHA Rent Hardship - A household may qualify for a rent reduction based on rent hardship or the Zero income policy if a household experiences a complete loss of income. For more information (in English, Russian, Spanish and Chinese) visit nyc.gov/nycha/Rent-Hardship.pdf

 

Census 2020 - is still on-going, remember to complete your questionnaire on-line to be counted. Also, Census takers will not be going door-to-door for information until June 1 (at the earliest).
