As you can see, this is another week of multiple messages from the Shul of New York. As we get closer to the High Holidays, there is so much we want to share with you. It is not our intention to fill your e-boxes, but rather, to disseminate important and timely information.
In that spirit, I share with you an invitation of urgent relevance and importance.
This Friday, September 20th, three days before the UN Climate Summit in NYC, millions of students and workers will leave their schools and workplaces to participate in the world-wide Strike for Climate Action.
Middle Collegiate Church has invited us to participate with them in marching and to gather at the rally that will be held in Battery Park, featuring Greta Thunberg, a Swedish environmental activist teenager who is raising awareness for the consequential risks of climate change. (Check out this amazing TED talk featuring Greta addressing the urgency of transforming our actions to save the planet.)
